DESCRIPTION: Here is one of the earliest Saratoga-typebottles, circa 1850-1865. It is 7” tallwith an improved pontil. It is embossedon the front: CLARKE & WHITE / NEW YORK. It has no chips or cracks, but there is scratching and many tiny dings and ground imperfections. The applied lip is crude as well. I’d call the color olive green, but it looksdifferent in different lighting, as the pictures show.
