Bernardsville NJ is a small town in Somerset County - the population was less than 8, 000 in 2010 and was likely much smaller in the 1890s - early 1900s, when this flask was manufactured and sold out of the Claremont Hotel (which opened in 1878).
It'...s mouth blown in a mold (BIM) with a tooled double collar lip. The base embossing is hard to read but seems to be letters and numbers including "182" and "ST", probably mold codes from the glass factory.
It's a beautiful sun-kissed pinkish clear, an attractive color change caused by a reaction in the glass's chemical makeup after years of exposure to sunlight. It's 6" high and 2.5" wide across the base.
The flask really sparkles - seeded throughout with lots of tiny bubbles, and a bit of whittle to the glass. It's in near mint condition with no chips/fleabites and no wear, the only thing of note is a tiny flash in one of the sides, near the bottom. It seems likely to have been an in-the-making annealing fissure, as there's no chip associated and you can't feel any kind of fracture when running a fingernail over it.
