Micromounts arespecimens which require magnification (sometimes a lot) for properappreciation, so please be aware of this when purchasing and read themeasurements of the specimen carefully to make sure you know the size ofwhat you are ordering. Many of these specimens will not look likeanything of value without good magnification!!
Thumbnail specimens are specimens that are 1 to 3 cm and fit in a 1.25 inch (~3.3 cm) plastic box, which... should give you an idea of scale.
Miniature specimens are specimens that are 3.1 to 6 cm.
Cabinet-size specimens are specimens that are 6.1 cm and larger.

Up for sale is a 64 x 58 x 37 mm fine specimen of glossy, green Prehnite botryoids on matrix from the Rauschermühle Quarry, Niederkirchen, Otterbach-Otterberg, Kaiserslautern District, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. The specimen weighs 149 grams (5.3 oz).

A note on IDENTIFICATION of rare species: unless stated otherwise, identifications of species are based on mine or my source's visualinspection of the specimen. A knowledgeable collector with a good photolibrary and a good microscope can do amazingly well at speciesidentification, but there is always a chance they are wrong. Even if aspecimen has been analyzed by EDS there still may be some uncertainty. I willtry to note when there is significant uncertainty with the ID of aspecies. If you think one of my IDs is wrong, please let me know and I will look into it further!
