Welcome to this viewing of a TATTED Doily in Excellent Vintage Condition. It is 11" round, Color~White, very light weight & delicate, a Beautiful piece of Textile Tatted Art....TO Collect, Gift, or USE. A quote from a Tatting Teacher~"Tatting is dying art form that consists of a series of knots and loops to make lace. It is very time consuming to make, taking 3-4 times longer to make something in tatting vs. crocheting. It is meticulous work because ...if a mistake is made it cannot simply be unraveled like crocheting. A mistake has to be picked out knot by knot or the piece is discarded and you must start over. This is why tatting items are priced so much higher than crochet."

And a Loud Shout Out to my Beautiful Grandmother~no longer with us~who so patiently taught me how to care for these Precious Vintage Textiles...soaking, removing stains, mending, ironing Vintage & Antique Linen, Lace, Doilies, Hankies, Bark Cloth, Odds & Ends etc., etc. I will never be able to restore a piece to its original handsomeness like she did, but the quality time I spent with her is so Nostalgic, it's like a twinge in my heart always taking me back...recalling how curious as a youngster I was about what was in that "big ol' black trunk".
