Here is a great mammoth tooth that my Father in Law traded for with the Natives in Fairbanks, AK back in the 60's. This specimen is nearly 12 inches long and weighs in at over 7 1/2 pounds. This has sat on the shelf for 50+ years and is untreated. It is flaking and chipping but I would say is 98% intact. It has one little piece missing at the front of the tooth and a vertical crack in conjunction with that (picture 11). Picture 12 is directly opposite of that crack showing it doesn't c...ome through. Even though the crack is not complete, I would assume there is weakness associated with it. All in all this is a great piece and in a size that is much less common than what is offered on this site.
