Vintage 40's Marie Webster "Dutch Baskets" Applique Antique Quilt ~BEST QUILTING Vintage 40's Marie Webster "Dutch Baskets" Applique Antique Quilt ~BEST QUILTING Click images to enlarge Description This OUTSTANDING cotton 30's/40's Dutch Baskets quilt is hand appliqued and hand quilt...ed, with hand embroidered accents and poppies, tulips and other flowers inside the paisley. The pattern is a classic "Marie Webster" pattern, and there are TWO identical ones available should the buyer want a matched pair.
Each measures 62" X 84" and is in excellent condition, with a couple of small, faint spots and no wear.
The quilting is OUTSTANDING, with quilting around and within the applique and in close grid (some as small as 1/4" wide) and feathered designs in the background at an unbelievable 12-13 stitches to the inch.
The back is the same off-white used in the background, the hand stitched binding is aqua, and the batting is thin.
