If any defects or damage is not visible in the images, it will be detailed in our auction description.Item Description:Up for your bidding pleasure is a very RARE Antique Reed Providence Side Wheeler River Paddle Boat, made of wood and lithographed paper. These rarely turn up for sale, for obvious reasons. ...Paper and wood tend not to survive as well as cast iron or metal toys that were typical of the early 20th century. This particular toy dates back to the 1800's, and measures an impressive 20" long. The boat displays wonderfully with surprisingly good color given the age. There are condition issues, as one would expect from a 120+ year old wood and paper toy. It appears to be missing a few pieces, and one of the wood masts is broken on the bottom end (pictured). The rear of the left side also has a triangular break in the wood/paper which may require some repair in order to secure it. One of the wood arches up top also has a small piece broken away and missing. The pictures are quite detailed, and show the condition better than I could describe it. Please refer to them to get a complete sense of condition.I was tempted to repair and replace some of the missing parts, but I don't have enough time to do this. I'll leave it up to the buyer to leave it as is or repair it if they so desire. It would be fairly easy to fabricate some of the missing pieces, such as the masts, flag and smoke stack/chimney. Either way, this is a fantastic toy and a great conversation piece. Would look incredible as the centerpiece of a display, whether you collect toys or not.
