This is a BEAUTIFUL and delicate toy set! This is a vintage 1967-69 Soft head Gi Joe wearing a 40th Anniversary Hasbro/Palitoy version of the 1971 Action Man GI Joe Household Cavalry Blues & Royals Sovereign Horse Guard!!
This vintage Gi Joe is attired in a Blues & Royals outfit. The main difference between this set and the Lifeguard set is the jacket color; blue with red facings, instead of red with blue facings. The plum is red instead of white. This Bl...ues & Royals Guard is in extraordinary condition with very light display wear.
Gi Joe figure holds positions very well. It is tight and moveable. Gi Joe is a soft head, made in USA, brunette. Painted head looks good. Cannot tell if it is original or a touchup. I did not undress the figure for figuring out cracks on limbs or see what the butt reads. The uniform fits the figure so well, I did not want to disturb it.
Scarlet plumed Helmet features the imitation shredded whalebone plume and gold crest badge. It is in excellent, unbroken condition. Chinstrap is present and intact. Displays beautifully.
The jacket is in very good played with condition, with crisp, bright fabric that has seen no play wear. There are no frays, fading, splits, or missing components that I can tell.
Gauntlets are in very good condition with no wear. Black, mid-thigh pattern jack boots are in excellent condition with minimal scuffs and wear. Spurs and related components are accounted for, however, one is intact and the other shows a repair on the inner side of the spur. See photo.
White PVC crossover belt with red cord and wide cartouche box with gold regimental badge is intact with both brass connecting clips and buckle sections in perfect working order. Ceremonial white belt with intricately moulded ceremonial belt buckle and base fastener are present They seem to be tied up with string. It could be broken. I did not touch it in fear for damaging it.
Cavalry sword (originally designed for fighting on horseback) and Scabbard with polyurethane hilt guard and the oftentimes missing pommel tassel is in excellent condition with very light wear. Clean and intact. No breaks or repairs. Please see all photos which provide the best description.
