For your consideration, we areoffering this vintage, dramatic, Japanese or Chinese, Famille Verte vase thatdepicts a ferocious, four-clawed dragon illustrated in different shades ofgreen flying through streaks of flaming red above a field of yellowchrysanthemums. Aside from its desirability, this vase would make a thoughtfulgift because a dragon, according to traditional Asian lore, symbolizes goodfortune. You, your loved ones, or your friends are dragons if you or they wereborn in 201...2; 2000; 1988; 1976; 1964; 1952; or 1940. The vase is 7” high;4-3/4”- wide across its center; 1-1/2”-wide at its top with a ¾” wide mouth; hasa 2-3/8” wide base and weighs about one pound. Its base is boldly marked with either a large, stylized letter “M” or“W” in reddish orange. We could not identify this mark and would appreciate anyinformation about it. We also could not accurately date this vase. With theexception of normal contact marks on its bottom and two factory originatedshallow pits, it is in excellent condition (please see photos).We are not the greatest photographersbut we try our best.
