Excellent quality genuine 97 year old silver box, in good condition, with a hinged silver lid and all-over decorated with attractive engine-turned engraving. Has a protruding silver edge lip on the front to assist lid opening and inside it still has its original undamaged cedar wood lining. Lovely heavy silver weight, approx 360 grams, (total weight) and there are no added personal engraved presentation inscriptions and monograms.Measurements Measures approx. 4.55 inches (114mm) x 3.45 inches (87mm) and is 2 inches (50mm) deep.Date English antique solid sterling silver with a full set of English silver hallmarks for London 1922 (date letter "g"). Lovely clear struck matching hallmark stamps on the box and the lid.Maker Silversmiths initials "Mn & Wb" (Mappin & Webb Ltd). Condition Good condition, with no splits or cracks to the silver, no solder repairs, definitely no wear holes and no nasty knocks or dents, just minor little surface dents/bruises from normal use, really nothing at all bad and a nice more uncommon decorative example. The silver hinged lid works perfectly and the lid opens and closes tightly and securely. The original interior cedar-wood lining is still in great condition and includes its removable divider.
