VICTORIAN BUD VASE WITH SILVER PLATED STAND 1887 - BEE AND BAMBOO DESIGN
Item History & Price
Reference Number: Avaluer:320827 |
This is a vintage glass enameled bud vase from the last half of the 19th century, complete with its original silver plated stand. The vase is 10 ¼” tall. The stand mimics bamboo shoots and bees. The glass has no chips or cracks, nor loss of paint. I’m assuming the stand is silver plated, although the plating appears worn. I have not attempted to polish it, and for all I know it will polish up. I will leave that task to the new owner. The stand appears to have the initials J A... M and the number 87 engraved on the sides. I’m very confident that would stand for the year 1887. The number 5015 is also engraved, and I would assume is the factory model number. Of course, please be sure to ask all questions prior to bidding. Thanks for looking and good luck If you decide to bid!
