A fabulous Mid Century era glossy black pottery lamp base, slip cast in terracotta pottery. A cat arches its back next to a vase – which forms the lamp base, all upon a book!The lamp is complete with its original bayonet style standard size globe fitting, a little wobbly here however just needs the securing ring that holds the lamp shade in place. The lead plug etc all original however checked and safely working. No makers marks or potters stamps so difficult to be sure where and wh...o made the lamp? The lamp is in perfect chip and crack free condition- rubbing wear to the applied painted corners of the book base and cats face. The lamp base stands approx 24.5cm, weight 950 Grams approx.
