This is a Rare J.B. Addis No 7 Sweep Gouge 3/8 inch Wood ChiselThis nice J.B. Addis No 7 Sweep Gouge Wood Chisel measures 3/8 inch in width and 9 inches in length. It is in excellent condition as the pictures show. The long boxwood handle has a well repaired small split and nice lacquer finish, with the original owners name stamp "J.J. Pearson" who was a cabinetmaker in Cambridge England. The blade is clean steel and it has a shiny sharp edge ready to put to work. J.B.... Addis only made regular chisels and gouges on special order as they were primarily the finest maker of wood carving chisels of their time. Only the "J" and "s" are readable but it has the distinctive 8-sided Addis collar on the blade.No Reserve.
