Up for auction is a not-often-found, hand-painted, RED GREEN Bobble Head still with its original box. The Red Green Show was a Canadian television comedy that aired on CBC Television and on PBS stations in the United States. The title character of The Red Green Show, Red (Steve Smith) is the leader of Possum Lodge and a self-proclaimed handyman who is constantly extolling the virtues of duct tape ("the handyman's secret weapon"). He is seldom seen without his trademark red-and-g...reen suspenders and Canadian military field maneuvers hat . . . most often with khakis and flannel shirts. The 7-inch bobble head is in like-new shape. Red is depicted in his iconic outfit described above and he is posed along with a role of duct tape in one hand and a duct-tape-repaired oar in his other. At his feet is a Chapter 11 Possum Lodge International Brotherhood Plaque stating the Lodge motto — "Quando omni flunkus moritati", mock Latin for "When all else fails, play dead". He is still with his original box. The internal plastic frame which protects the bobblehead from shifting inside the box is still solid but is yellowing a bit. The box shows light corner/edge wear and has a small tear by the lodge window where you see Red's bobblehead face. One edge of the box has become unglued so it unfolds. This does not prevent the box from being refolded as it should appear. If you desired, the box could be made to feel more solid by re-gluing this folded edge. The underside of the base indicates the bobblehead is a Bobble Dobbles by Alexander Global Promotions. I can find no production date on the piece or its box.
