Antique Baker Hand Made Broad Axe Hatchet 4 1/2" By 6"
Baker Hand Made items aren't so common. There were 2 men named Baker and Hamilton who came for the California gold rush and stayed to open a hardware store. I'm right across the bay from glorious San Francisco so I'm guessing this could have been one of theirs.
The head is dark with some pitting and grinds. Some of the letters in the logo are damaged but it is definitely Baker Hand Made. ... The head has a nice, large bevel on the front side and none on the back.The handle is a replacement and pretty funky. I'm sure Bob made it himself. It is secure and probably hasn't been used since it was put on. I can cut it off if you like and ship this in a small flat rate box for $7.90. Just let me know and I'll refund any excess shipping.

Most pictures will be with the cutting edge down so you can keep track of the sides of the piece.

Many tools are heavy so I will be listing in flat rate boxes. If you have won more than one auction, I
will be happy to combine the items in the most economical way that I can and ship to you in the least
amount of boxes. In the past, I've managed to get over 10 hatchets in a large flat rate box and still be
below the 70 pounds limit. Please wait for a combined invoice with the new shipping options before
you pay for your items. It eliminates a lot of paperwork and contact with eBay if charges don't have to
be corrected (for me).
