Marx Siren Fire Chief Car - Fire Dept. - F.D. 1st Batt. - Pressed Steel - 1930’s.
This is a nice old Louis Marx & Company vehicle with no date of manufacture. The vehicle is a heavy metal and is very solid and sturdy. The doors or truck do not open. The photos can do a good job of describing what the vehicle looks like. It is used played with condition. The printing is all nice and complete.
The vehicle has a wind up turn key that drives the ve...hicle by the rear wheels. The spring still drives the vehicle forward, I was afraid of over tightening it so I just wound it a little. All four tires are a hard rubber material. The tires read "Mark Balloon USA." There is a battery holder under the vehicle that powered the headlights. There are no bulbs in the headlights and they may no longer work. There is a slide switch near the wind up key that controls the head lamp on off key.
The vehicle measures about 15 inches long and 6 inches tall and is about 5 1/2 inches wide. There is another control switch on the right rear near the trunk that turns the vehicle off from running. The trunk gives the maker's information reading " Made in America Louis Marx and Company NY USA Patent Pending."
