Antique photograph case with old photo as shown. Photo is surrounded by an ornate gold plated metal. I believe this case is made of gutta percha after seeing similar cases on Ebay.
Photo is behind glass. I don't know how to tell if this a Dagurerrotype or some latter type of photograph. To me it looks similar to photos sold as Dagurerrotypes but you be the judge. Other possibilities - ambrotype or tintype.
Measures about 2 1/2" x 3" when closed.
Small... chip where case locking point was. See photos.
