Nine String newer (Clarabelle Clown) Marionette String Puppet made, Blinking eyes and a talker.I have a series of marionettes I have been collecting over the years and I am trying to lighten the load. Most are/were all hand made out of solid wood and fabric by some one I know not who. This marionette appears to be made of light weight plaster or resin, I I bought them at auction about 30 years ago and have had them hanging around since. Pun intended. They have been hanging in my ...puppet shop so all are a little dusty and dirty. The stains were there when I bought them.
This marionette is made mostly of wood and plaster/resin. The head is 100% carved or molded or light weight plaster or composition. The balance being cloth. It is made quite well and moves quite stiff. It has an European/air plane control and nine strings. The marionette stands a proud 18" tall with very nice hand made head, hands and feet with cloth clothes.
