Nice small reclining chair traditionally made by the Bobo people of West Africa.
Both the seat and the backrest are decorated with a crocodile carving - the sacred animal of the Bobo.
Very comfortable low seat. Beautiful texture of hard exotic wood.
Excellent vintage condition.
Approx. size 50 x 25 cm, height 64 cm.
The stool is made of two solid pieces of wood, will come folded. Heavy.
I'm selling a family collection of African artefacts gathered by my uncle and... aunt over the years in West and Central Africa. I specified provenance wherever possible, however, I don't know the exact age of the items.I'm happy to answer any questions.
These are vintage items and might have signs of age, wear, minor cracks, minor repairs and insect damage. All items have been duly fumigated before being brought to the UK.All items come from smoke and pet free home.
