One (1) Matchbox Lesney Ford Fairlane Fire Chief's Car 59 b3, red body; clear window insert; white roof light and... interior; black painted metal base; 9 x 36 black plastic wheels, door and bonnet decals. B type body with ridges cast at three wheel arches; B type trim applied to head lights and grille only. Stannard catalogue casting code 5 of 5. This fine model is in near mint condition. It was introduced in June, 1963 and was sold in this type and two other variations based upon SPW or GPW wheel colour (Mack). It is approximately 66 mm in overall length. Please carefully examine the high definition photos for the beautiful, virtually flawless original paintwork detail. The window insert is clean and clear as new. The black plastic wheels show no wear from use. The gloss black painted metal base is immaculate.There are no casting or mechanical defects. This splendid Ford Fairlane Fire Chief's Car will display as new. They are constructed of correct weight tag board. They are laser printed so they will be somewhat glossier than an original Lesney era box, which was printed with lithography. 2. Grading:VNM = Very Near Mint. The paintwork is, for all practical purposes, close to new. Original factory flaws will be noted in the listing if they exist. All original accessories are present.
NM = Near Mint. Restoration unnecessary. The paintwork is nearly perfect, clean, shiny and bright on all exterior surfaces (except for possibly the base, if painted). Original, virgin paintwork approaches 100% with the possible exception of any factory paint flaws, very limited paintwork detail restoration, or very minor storage (not impact) wear. Negligible rolling use of the wheels may be present. The model is mechanically perfect. All original appliques and accessories are present.
EXC = Excellent. Minor paintwork and/or applique imperfections may exist, usually due to improper storage, not play, and will be evident in the photos. Paintwork imperfections may have been restored. Decals or other appliques may have been replaced with replicas. For this grade, no mechanical problems exist, including windows, if applicable, and no such repairs have ever been performed, in our opinion. Minor wheel use may be evident.
