Offered is a really RARE MATCH SAFE or VESTA CASE made by GORHAM in 1888. It is the "FULL OF THE D" one, the D standing for DEVIL. It features an amazingly repoussed DEVIL on the front and torches on the rear. See photos. The detail and realism is really wonderful and extremely well done! The case is 2 1/2 inches long, 1 3/4 inches wide, and 1/2 inches deep. It weighs 31 grams, 1 troy ounce. NO MONOGRAM or removal. Hallmarked on the inner rim of the case with the Gorham hallmarks..., patent date, sterling. It is in really great condition, no issues to speak of, it is wondrful estate condition. Wonderful patina.
