This vase was converted into a lamp in the early 20th century. The only parts remaining are the fitted cap, and interior metal tube which connects the cap to the base which the electrical wire would have been pulled through. The tube goes through the base which was drilled out as well as the vase, and a nut holds it together. The interior of the vase has signs of original use AS a vase, it has not been cleaned. See picture.
This lamp parts are easily removable as photos show with and without. The nut is only hand tightened.
The foot rim of vase is very smooth to the touch, and has a slightly rounded profile.
The vase height measures 18” (45.72cm)
In very good original condition, with only a few minor scratches marked with blue arrows in picture.
The wood base is also a rare carved form, very heavy hardwood. One foot does have a chip as photo shows.
