Wow these are awesome & quite old like 1800's old & very rare. Corbin Russwin started in 1839 doing hardware! There is one online that has similar pattern but also says Ceres on the back & they want $225 just for 1!!! Not sure if these are black or actually a dark bronze! I believe they are cast iron & most likely bronze from my research though since they are quite heavy duty! They have great a victorian/gothic looking design embossed at the top & bottom... of both of them. Embossed Russwin Ceres 941 on the back. Both are in great used condition just need a lot of elbow grease to scrub them. A lot of built up dirt & grease. ! of them actually looks older than the other although they came out of the same estate! Measures: 7" tall x 2-1/2" wide 7/8" thick from back to end of knob opening. One weighs 7.8 oz & the other one which is lighter in the pictures is a whopping 10.2. Maybe more grease LOL. We have a matching mail slot plate listed separately.
