Offered is Bartolomeo Terzano antique steel filigree scissors, Circa 1870-90. These wonderfully ornate steel scissors have fancy pierced bows and handles with a detailed design of scrolling foliage. They're completely hand made and the handwork and engraving on both sides is beautifully done. They were made in Italy in the famous Campobasso s...teel-making region and date to circa 1860-1890. The blades have "BT" marked on both shanks and are the maker's initials that stand for Bartolomeo Terzano, a well known maker of that period. They have tight blades, with sharp, intact points and cut pretty well. The overall condition is very good with the inside of the blades showing light remnants of rust (?) which may be removable with the proper cleaner but they still have a lot of their original polished steel surface. They measure almost 4" long.
