This listing is for an antique pair of English majolica ceramic figural tile plaques in wood frames. The frames measure 16 1/4 by 10 1/4 inches or 41.2 by 26cm. The plaques measure 12 by 6 inches or 30.4 by 15.2cm.They feature an older gentleman standing in his study observing objects and reading important papers. They have a dark forest green glaze that creates light and dark details throughout the piece. They are marked ont he back "ENGLAND" with a knot in the middle of a triangle. ...The frames are wood with a gilt gesso interior frame.The plaques are in good condition, with some crazing to the glaze, there is also some minor chipping to the interior gesso frame.
