General Details and Condition:This ex...ample is dated 1964. The Boomerang came in two variants, teak and rosewood -- this one is teak, and the finish is in exceptional condition on all external surfaces. The top surface has some minor wear and scrapes (perhaps 2 which are noticeable under close inspection) that are under the last coat of finish, and difficult to photograph. Minor wear on the bottom corners; see where the veneer is slightly chipped. Generally, finished surfaces are in outstanding condition. The desk has a locking set of drawers in the front and a locking liquor cabinet in the rear -- both locks work perfectly and one key is included which operates both locks. Drawers are in exceptional condition.
Notice that the desk has been repaired in the past -- someone cut a 3"x3" hole into the side of the liquor cabinet. The hole has been repaired and looks unmolested on the outside; inside of the locking liquor cabinet, the repair is still visible but could be covered up relatively easily. See pictures. This is the only repair that has been done on the desk.
This Dansk-Lovig desk will make a tremendous statement for any office, study, or museum. It goes equally well with vintage or contemporary furniture, and like a mid-century Ferrari, is unmistakable in both its period feel and in its timeless modernity. Please reach out with any further questions.
