After more than 40 yearsof collecting, the time has come to thin down on my
antique-sewing-machineephemera. Please check for new items each week.
They will range from thesuper-rare to the more common. All will be packaged
carefully in ahard-card-back envelope or whatever might be more suitable.

A superb-condition fold-out brochure listing prices for the Willcox& Gibbs
Automatic chain-stitch machines produced fr...om 1875.
It’s clearly aimed at the European market for we have, included, the hand-crank model with attractive wheel and gantry.
The six pages fold out to an impressive 11 ½ inches/295mm x12 inches/305mm,
each page measuring just under 4 inches/100mm x 6 inches/150mm.
The individual pages show the various treadles that could beordered and which,
of course, extol the virtues of the “most perfect regularityand beauty” etc, and
offer a free trial at home.
It’s survived in virtually perfect condition, amazing afterall these years.
Wouldn’t this look great, framed, in a sewing room? (AB7)
