Vintage Stanley Bailey No. 5 Hand Plane Sweetheart 1925 - 28 Complete Heavy Use

Here's a vintage Stanley Bailey No. 5 Hand Plane. This particular plane dates between 1925-1928 (type 13), with a "Sweetheart" marking on the blade. The plane, while complete, is in rather rough shape and would probably be better as a parts piece than a functional tool. The cutting iron has dents and corrosive rust along the blade edge, especially on the left corner. The lateral adjusting lever, while functional, has a lot of vertical play and feels loose. The screw holding the frog ad...justing plate is frozen in place and despite using a heavy amount of WD40, I couldn't get it to budge. There is a tight crack in the rear handle by the base, and both handles have finish loss, paint stains, and denting. The body has a rust bubble near the mouth that would need to be buffed out. Paint loss and rust to the top of the foot. Screws have some stripping.
