~ Description ~ This issue is chock full of gorgeous COLOR. There are opera capes, evening gowns, fur coats, ladies day wear, street costumes, and MORE.
There are several advertisements for costume design schools and books for designers, this publication clearly an appeal to their target audience, the aspiring haute couture designers of the era. This large format magazine measures 15 1/2" x 10 3/4", and has 51 pages.
~ History ~ Elite Pattern Service wasfirst formed in 1897. They beganpublishing a “Monthly Women’s and Children’s Pattern Magazine, ” which evolvedto simply “Elite Styles.” The periodicalwas dedicated to fashionable women and progressive dressmakers. The company wentout of business in 1929, the same year as the stock market crash.
Condition: Excellent condition. Covers attached, clean and bright. Very minor fraying, dog ear on front cover at top right. and mostly bright and clean with a few smudges along the front left margin and back edges. Interior pages clean and bright with no markings, cut-outs or missing pages.This item is a vintage product, used, with appropriate wear and tear, sold "As Is."
