This is a stunning antique Victorian, unwired (was never adapted, luckily, for electricity) and all original, candle light wall sconce with 3 sockets, circa 1890, give or take a few years. It was gilded with gold over either bronze or brass and the gilding is in very good condition with most of what wear exists concentrated in the areas of the sockets, as one would expect because that is the area of most use and handling.
The quality of the casting is excellent, as you can see... from an examination of the photos. The curved arms are also beautifully cast, or pressed, and are a little flexible so they can be slightly adjusted as needed, if needed. But please let the pictures do the talking. The quality is great.
Originally this sconce would have had about 27 crystals hanging from the drip pans and the floral castings beneath them. These can be found relatively inexpensively if one would desire. I can see that either way; you don't really notice their absence but can imagine the appearance if they were there. Stunning either way.
