- Bisque Shoulder Head with Closed Mouth
- Gusseted Kid Leather Lady Body
- Approx. 21" Tall
- Marked Only "6" on the Shoulder Plate
This is a 21” early shoulder-head closed-mouth beauty with lovely, large sleep eyes. She has bisque lower arms and sturdy gusseted kid leather body.Her wig is full and... wavy, and I believe it to be the original. She has peaches-and-cream luscious bisque with well painted features, feathered eyebrows and lashes, and mesmerizing brown paperweight eyes. What an exceptional girl!Her ecru laced gown is quite beautiful, with blue silk sash and mother-of-pearl buckle. It also has an antique floral "pin" -- an extra touch. To complete the outfit, she has the lovely coordinating hat and antique black leather shoes.This doll came from a collector who had her for almost 40 years. You can understand why ... just looking at her. - The following props are not included: Doll Stand.
[ CONDITION... ]
- Beautiful antique condition -- from a non-smoking environment.- No repairs to the leather, nor any damage to the bisque head noticed after careful examination.
IMPORTANT: Besides the noteworthy issues mentioned above, EXPECT any antique doll (bisque/composition/leather/china/wood) to ALSO have:
(1) SIGNS OF AGE - for example: toned/crazed/chipped composition, minor wig pulls, loss of "hair" lashes on bisque heads (if they had them), not-so-tight stringing, etc., and ...
(2) MINOR CONSERVATION WORK by previous owners/collectors - for example: reset eyes (in most cases!), repairs to wig, repairs to clothing, touch-ups on composition/finish/paint, etc.
SO ... Any MAJOR issues -- hairline crack, total repaint, etc. -- would be itemized above, but these normal age/conservation details are not. They are to be expected. Thank you.
