This is a darling 27" antique German Kley & Hahn (Kestner) Walkure bisque doll with composition body, circa 1900. The doll's head is marked “Walkure” Germany, 5 1/4, and I think behind the glue on the hair is a "250". The Walkure heads were made by Kestner for Kley & Hahn. She has large stationary blue glass eyes, gorgeous eyebrows and open mouth showing some sweet little teeth. She is wearing her original human hair wig. Her body is composition and in good condition ...with some repair around the neck and a few chips around the joints plus a crack as seen on one side. I believe the composition body is original. The stringing is good but the head is a bit loose but not too bad. Her bisque head is free of chips, cracks and repairs. Her shoes are original kid leather with one missing the decorative trim as seen in the photos. The clothes she wears is how she came to our family in 1967; socks, kid leather shoes, two undergarment slips and her pretty cotton dress with green ribbon (tiny buttons are missing in the back of the dress to fasten). I washed all the clothes in Oxiclean and detergent and they came out beautifully. There is a torn area under her arm on the first undergarment. Our family hopes that she comes to a very good home, seeing as how she has been a part of ours for 53 years. She will ship USPS priority only and will be excellently packed and double boxed.
