23" tall GERMAN Bisque head doll on ball jointed composition body.. VERY STUNNING DOLL! Marked on back of her head with "George Borgfeldt"....she's a rare HARD TO FIND doll. She has a perfect bisque head...no damage or repair. Lovely full rosy cheeks with a peaches and cream complex...ion. High color to her face. Lovely brown glass sleep eyes with her ORIGINAL BROWN HORSE-HAIR EYELASHES still intact!! Four white teeth...a beguiling child's face ..such a sweetheart. Dimple in middle of her chin...a slight double chin. Wearing a soft mohair wig of henna brown. Replaced pate. There's scotch tape residue at top of head where pate has been attached. I believe this to be her original body ( which clearly shows re-paint/repair to her feet) and also has wear at the joints which is very typical for an early doll. All fingers intact. Stringing could be a bit tighter... but she still holds a pose. STUDY ALL PHOTOS as they are a large part of the description. Doll is being sold as is .. an old plaything having wear commensurate with age ~
She wears an ivory-colored dress fashioned from a vintage slip, a full doll slip underneath, old bloomers and antique stockings. The dress has stains and wear...hard to see unless holding fabric up close and smoothing out.
