MATERIALBox is solid wood, what appears to be wood veneer. Interior could possibly be painted to look like, ...but the grain catches the light which leads me to believe it is not painted.
Beautiful etched mother of pearl inlay on lid, at and above lock. Fine grade antique blue velveteen writing surface. Metal interior latch mechanism.
Cards are an array of embossed, silk fringe double sided, calling, post, Easter, Christmas, and a 3-D antique Valentine. All sold as is, exactly as found in box.
Quill pen is just lovely and all wood (appears to be 3 unknown types used). 2 metal quill tips.
Material of letter opener is of undetermined.

There is a clear substance on one spot, as it had inadvertently been set on something but There is no continual crack seen that would leave suspicion of damage. She’s old. You’d have a mark or 2 too at her age.CARDSTheir condition varies. Valentine was not damaged in display, tacks only held it in balance, no perforation. All sold as is, exactly as found in box.
