Pannonian Celts, the Scordisci in Syrmia (Pannonia), c. 2nd century BC, AE tetradrachm (22mm, 8.36gm), Kugelwange (“ball-cheek”) type derived from the coinage of Philip II of Macedon. O: No legend. Devolved laureate and bearded head of Zeus right. R: Horse prancing left; above, circle with pellet at center. Cf. Göbl OTA pl. 17, 193/14; Lanz 475ff; Forrer 279; LT 9815.
