This is a striking work of craftsmanship by Peggy Taylor.This lovely, dramatic settee is crafted primarily of wonderfully woven black string, designed to look like wicker. The back of the settee is a lovely open fan-back style that sweeps around into the arms. The skirt is also woven to look like wicker. This piece looks equally lovely from the back, where you get to see the beauty of the weaving. This makes it an excellent choice for furnishing the "4th wall" of a room or ga...rden.The charming upholstery is done in black cotton floral print with red roses and taupe leaves, with a cheerful sherbet trim around the edge. The upholstery covers the seat and partial seat-back, sweeping forward with the arms.Hand crafted in the U.S. It is signed on the bottom "P. Taylor".This piece would look so beautiful on a front porch or in a garden, or even in a living room or parlor using wicker indoors!
