Latakia Scott #20 used, twenty five piasters violet brown stamp with black LATTAQUIE overprint issued for Latakia a division of Syria in Western Asia, included in the Syrian Mandate to France under the Versailles Treaty after WWI. The name Latakia was adopted in 1930; formerly Alaouites (see scans). Very fine centered used stamp is in excellent condition; no faults.
