Extremely rare America die embossed revenue of 1765...2/3 value, (two shillings & three pence) die B,  Scott catalogue RM 30, only 3 copies recorded (not overembossed)This stamp has been overembossed by an English revenue stamp...2/6 die E, Barber # 3, used 1757-1772.After the Stamp Act of 1765 was overturned after only 5 months, this stamped but unused paper sheet was returned to Englandto be restamped (overembossed) and used as an English legal document...A lease for one yea...r, dated 25 April 1769 for ONE PEPPERCORN payment, For Buildings and Land in South Leverton, Nottinghamshire.Black hand stamp...9d per Quire...paper costmark.Handmade strong laid paper with nice watermark, Slight separation on corner folds, 330 x 416 mm, approx 13 x 16 inches, Nice signatures, and red wax seal.The last 3 images are of photographs used to display this document, and will be included.Very attractive and rare document.Please ask, if you have any questions....The introduction of these revenues in 1765 precipitated the American revolution, with the cry of “no taxation without political representation”The embossed revenue paper was withdrawn after only 5 months with very fewof them used,  A rare and genuine slice of American history!
