CompleteCased Antique Mother of Pearl & Silver Writing Set French* Circa1890s Thiswonderful fitted set has three mother of pearl writing toolsincluding a dip pen, a letter opener and a waxseal.Everything is original to theset. The case is wood covered with a leather look paper and it has theoriginal satin and velvet linings. Itcloses well with a brass flip down latchand it measures 8" x 3 1/2".
The stem ofthe pen is carved in the form of...a mother of pearl feather. The silver seal has the French boar's hearsilver hallmark used for 800/1000 pure silver of Paris manufacture. Theletter knife has a lovely silver mount but it's not marked. All are inexcellent condition with no chips, cracks or other damage. Thesealhas never been engraved. The pen is 7 1/4" long (including nib) and theletter knifeis almost 7" long. The seal is 2 1/2" high.
