Original Description:
#30A Scott Catalog number tied to folded letter by black New-York Oct 16, 1860 circular date stamp with black & red grid killers to Halifax, Nova Scotia per the steamer 'Canada' with a "5" credit marking. 
The folded letter sheet has pressed out folds from a prior folding.  The rear is back stamped with a Boston Br. Packet receiving mark & a Halifax receiving mark.  The cover comes with Philatelic Foundation Certificate 76999 dated July, 1979.  The name o...f the original submitter has been cut off the bottom of the certificate.
