19th CENTURY FRENCH EMPIRE ORMOLU BRONZE POSSIBLY BACCARAT EMERALD GREEN CRYSTAL INKWELLRemarkable antique French emerald green cut crystal inkwell with Empire bronze mounts.Of solid cut crystal, heavy and beautifully crafted. Rare to find this emerald green color!The base having an intricate cut star pattern. Likely an early Baccarat, as the famed cristallerie only marked their wares with a paper label from 1860 on (which often times got lost or removed) and did not use their ac...id-etched mark until 1936. Of course the quality is unmistakable.The inkwell has a hinged bronze lid embellished with and Eagle and neoclassical appliques to sides. The decor includes a ribbon bow tied wreath and garland swags. Opens to reveal a removable green inner glass liner. Inkwell measures 4" height x 2 3/8" square. In overall good antique condition, slight wear to the metal mounts commensurate with age and use. No chips or cracks to the heavy quality emerald green inkwell.
