This is a rare opportunity to own a large set of flow blue Staffordshire dinnerware in fantastic condition, with not a single crack, chip, or hairline to be found among all 34 pieces.“The Hofburg” pattern by W.H. Grindley & Co. was produced between 1914 and 1925, as indicated by the backstamp used by Grindley during that period, and has a blue leaf design with gold trim.Set consists of:11 - 10” dinner plates13 - 9” luncheon or salad plates6 - 7 3/4” soup bowls1 - butter pat (...6 3/4” x 7 1/4”)1 - small serving plate (10” x 9 1/2”)1 - tea cup1 - saucerCondition is very good to excellent, with most pieces showing varying degrees of crazing, that being a fairly common, if not virtually guaranteed detail among dishes of this type and and age. There is some discoloration, most of which is on some of the bowls and individual pieces, as the plates are largely free discoloration. On the whole, condition is about as good as it gets, as rarely will you find any 34 piece collection that is free of chips and cracks, and only limited amounts of discoloration, Indicating that these were all very well cared for over the years.Please view all pictures closely and carefully, zooming in as needed, as they represent a large part of this description.
