Offered for sale is a beautiful Metropolitan Museum of Art Tobacco Leaf porcelain platter manufactured by Mottahedeh Vista Alegre of Portugal. The platter is transfer decorated with hand-painted interiors and it is modeled after the original Chinese Export Tobacco Leaf service that was made during the late 1700s to early 1800s. The platter is white with bright leaf and floral designs. The platter features a slightly scalloped rim and the rim and leaves are accented in gold.... The platter measures approximately 17" in length by 13 7/8” wide and it is marked on the bottom as shown in green.
The overall condition of the platter is excellent. It is extremely clean and there are no chips, cracks, or repaired areas. The pattern details and painted areas are also excellent. There is minimal to no rubbing to the rim or bottom and no loss to the gold accents. This platter appears as if it is brand new! Please be sure to check out my other auctions for more great items!
