This lot contains a cover carried on the Pam Am Clipper Survey Flight for FAM 14 from Honolulu to San Francisco on April 16, 1935. Cover included: 4/22/1935 Honolulu cancel with blue Pan Am cachet. The airmail envelope has the proper receiver in San Francisco on the 23rd, which also served as the outbound postmark to San Diego. The flight actually touched down at the Alameda Yacht Harbor across the Bay (just NW of what is now Oakland Airport); t...his is the same terminal where the B-25's were loaded aboard the USS Hornet for the US attack on Tokyo in 1942. The cover is listed as AAMC #1230a in the Trans Oceanic Record Flight section of Vol. 4 from the 5th Ed. The cover has a sealed flap. Condition is as shown in the pics. The cover shows some toning and has a small stain at top left.
