This is a Swastika Keramos Pottery Bulbous Vase that has gold Swastika motifs alternating with silver textured panels. It has a iridescent, metallic glaze typical of many of the pieces in this line. It was only made from 1906-1908 in a line of pottery called the Keramos Swastika and produced by the Owen China Company of Minerva, Ohio. The design of this line was by Jon Lessell, a famous American potter. The vase stands 71/2" tall and 41/4" wide (at ...lower bulbous level) and 3/3/4" wide at top. There is an embossed signature at the bottom. The vase is in very good condition considering its age. There is some crazing around the top of vase and a minor scratch or two there also from use. The Swastika motif was an ancient symbol of "well being" or "good luck" in ancient societies, including India, China, Africa, Native America, Europe, and the United States.
