Vtg Beany Talking Doll 1962 (from the original Bob Clampett cartoon 1949) Pull String Works and he talks. Beany and Cecil began in 1949 as a kids' puppet show titled "Time For Beany". It was created by legendary Warner Bros. cartoon director Bob Clampett. In 1962, ABC ordered a weekly series which was aired in primetime as "Matty's Funnies With Beany & Cecil" , sponsored by Mattel toys and the Beany doll is said to have come out in 1962.He has surface dirt on his clothe...s and shoes. The shoes have wear to the edges, but the bottoms are really good. His propeller is gone, but most Beany dolls are missing that part.
