Up for sale is a so-called dollar or commemorative medal made for the Gasparilla Pirate Festival at Tampa, Florida, first issued in 1955.
Description: It is made from brass, and measures approximately 38mm in diameter. It corresponds with Hibler-Kappen listing HK-720, one of the more unique items listed as a so-called dollar.
It has been graded at AU58. According to NGC's Coin Census, just 6 have been graded finer, with about 8 tied at this grade. It is something of a grade ...rarity, as almost all pieces were thrown out into the crowd by "pirates" and subsequently handled.
