The item is clearly a very finequality art work showing some age and old patina. It has 4 symmetrical dents on the rimwhich may have been done for a stand/bracket piece where the medal waspresented on. One side has the remains of a fine layer of yellow wax. I did notattempt to clean it since I have no idea how to do it properly.
