Vintage McCoy lion planter circa 1940. Periwinkle blue lion measures 8 3/8" long x 4 1/2" high x 2 7/8" wide on the bottom. There is a faint USA mark on the back under the tail. No crazing. Clean inside and out. There is a chip on the under side under the front paw. There is tiny chip from the factory that is glazed over on the side at the bottom. There is a small firing crack on the top around the rim and tiny flea bite or glaze pop on the top of his head. I noticed a tight hairline a...pprox 1/2" long on the rim that extends on the inside, but doesn't come through on the outside. I like to mention any flaws that are minor and may or may not be factory issues that most sellers wouldn't bring attention to. Coming from my collection. Even with these small flaws it is a nice piece of hard to find McCoy.
