All of the buttons we are selling came from a family friend who grew up in St Louis at the turn of the Century (1900), and also spent time in Chicago and New York in her travels. I have stored these buttons and pins in a humidity-controlled, pet-free, and smoke-free environment for the 40+ years that I have owned them. I just have too much stuff in my basement, and it's time to let other people enjoy these great pins.
